BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, May 13, 2009) – Iowa Speedway officials have informed the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment officials that they have already sold over 18,000 tickets for this Saturday night’s “Pride of Iowa 100” at the 7/8-mile facility. Last year, the ASAMT raced in front of an announced crowd of 14,888.
“We are very excited to have the ASA Midwest Tour return to ‘America’s Place to Race’ and from our advance ticket sales, the Iowa racing fans are excited to see their return as well, since we have over 18,000 ticket-holders for the event,” Craig Armstrong, Iowa Speedway Vice President/General Manager stated. “Last year, they put on a great super late model race and we expect more excitement this year as they will be competing under the lights in a classic Saturday night shootout.”

BURLINGTON, IA (Tuesday, May 12, 2009) - When you talk to Landon Cassill, one would think you would be expecting to talk to a driver who is searching for answers to why he doesn’t have a full-time NASCAR Nationwide Series or Camping World Truck Series ride. Instead you find yourself talking to someone who is still full of enthusiasm and ambition.
That enthusiasm and ambition was loud and clear when asked about coming to compete in the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment’s Pride of Iowa 100 this Saturday at Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA. He will be driving a car prepared by Kyle Busch Motorsports and will carry the National Guard sponsorship.
“I’m really excited! I think Iowa Speedway is definitely one of the best tracks that I have driven on and to come back in some great equipment I can’t wait,” the Cedar Rapids, IA driver stated. “Kyle has been gracious enough to put me in his race car. He has been a good friend of mine and I think its going to be great. I have been in the race shop a few times and they have great program over at KBM with some awesome equipment. I’m just real excited to get in the car.”
Last year Cassill competed in the ASAMT event at Iowa Speedway driving a car prepared by 2008 ASAMT Champion Dan Fredrickson. He started on the outside of the front row and was an early leader but fell back and finished ninth. He also remembers how well Kyle Busch ran in that race and is excited about his chances this year, “We are bringing about the same package as last year and I am ready for it,” Cassill exclaimed.
