DAYTONA BEACH, FL (RELEASE DATE) - Fresh off his second full season in the ASA Midwest Tour where he finished third in points, Chris Wimmer is now getting prepared to compete in his first overseas event. The Wausau, WI driver will be competing at the Phakisa Freeway Circuit in Welkom, Free State, South Africa in the ASA Transcontinental Series Free State 500k on Sunday, January 31, 2010.


Wausau, WI October 26th, 2009- Chris Wimmer and Wimmer Racing are pleased to announce a partner- ship with State Water Heaters, the Nashville Ferguson Enterprises branch, and Dickens Turf and Land- scape supply for the All-American 400 Weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Wimmer will race in the 250-lap Championship Racing Association (CRA) race Sunday afternoon. “The racetrack at the Fairgrounds is such a neat track,” says Wimmer, “I was really hoping to be able to race, but knew I’d need some sponsorship to do so. I can’t even express how grateful I am to State, Ferguson, and Dickens for coming on board to make it possible for me to race this weekend.”


American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment Touring Star Chris Wimmer was named Speed51.com's Quarter Master "Clutch Performer of the Week." It is the second time this season, and the first repeat driver to win the award this season.

Speed 51 heralded Wimmer's win over Matt Kenseth in last Tuesday's Swiss Colony All-Star Challenge event at Madison International Speedway. He followed up that victory with a fifth-place finish three days later at the ASAMT's Keith Fleck Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, IA.
