SHAKOPEE, MN (August 12, 2007) - Dan Fredrickson continued his Summer hot streak as he took the lead in dramatic fashion, with just a few laps to go as he won the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour, Presented By Echo Outdoor Power Equipment’s Shakopee 100 Presented by Prairie Lawn and Garden at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN.

Polesitter Travis Sauter took control of the race as Jonathan Eilen quickly pulled in behind in the opening laps. Dean Cornelius brought out the first of many cautions in the event, when he bounced off the turn four wall, breaking something on his car, which then sent it slamming into the turn one wall, ending his night only five laps into the race. Sauter and Eilen picked up the battle for the lead as they ran bumper-to-bumper out in front. Five more cautions through the middle stages of the race prevented Sauter and Eilen from putting too many cars a lap down as they continued to fight for the lead. Steve Carlson ran in third, with Adam Royle right behind as they shadowed the leaders. Royle would get by Carlson on lap 53 and he rapidly closed in on Sauter and Eilen, who remained close at the front of the field.

Friday August 10, 2007, (Daytona Beach, FL) -- Parity has been abundant in the inaugural season of the Kwik Trip ASA Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment. Through ten events (nine of which were points events) the tour has seen nine different winners. That list includes drivers defending their territory like Jamie Iverson of Escanaba, MI with his win at Norway, MI, a first time winner in Brandon Hill who won at Madison and even a win by NASCAR Nextel Cup Star Kyle Busch at Wisconsin International Raceway.
Such an even playing field has led to an incredible chase atop the tour’s point standings. Marshall WI’s Nathan Haseleu currently leads Dundas MN’s Donny Reuvers by only fourteen tallies. Lurking back in third is Dave Feiler of Sun Prarie, WI only 35 points behind Haseleu.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (August 11, 2007) - Jonathan Eilen of Hampton, MN made himself the answer to a trivia question by becoming the first-ever winner of a American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour Presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment race back in April. On Sunday August 12th, the ASA Midwest Tour travels to Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN for the Shakopee 100 Presented by Prairie Lawn and Garden which is just miles from where Eilen captured the historic first win to kick off the ASA Midwest Tour’s inaugural season.

Eilen hasn’t made it back to Victory Lane since, but has been a consistent top five finisher in the other events and that has elevated him to fourth in the ASA Midwest Tour point standings with just two races remaining. "Winning that first race was awesome, I don’t think that I ever had such a big fan base at my home track," said Eilen. "Not only to win one of these races, but to win one of the biggest races ever at Elko Speedway was great."

"It’s a tight short little track, you get a lot of little bumps and rubber on the doors here and there, it’s kind of a nitty-gritty deal and it’s cool," said Fredrickson. "It should be a good show for the fans, we had a couple good runs the last few times that we have been there and we hope to do good there again."

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (August 8, 2007) - The American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment is in it’s stretch drive of it’s inaugural season and it’s next stop is Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN. The Shakopee 100 will be held on Sunday August 12th with the Cars and Stars of the ASA Midwest Tour taking on the best local drivers on the tight ¼ mile track.

On June 21, 1983, the event consisted of twin 75 lap features won by legendary drivers Mark Martin and Dick Trickle. On June 23, 1987, short-track specialist Butch Miller held off Rich Bickle, Dick Trickle and Joe Shear in the 100 lap event that also saw Dale Earnhardt finish 8th.
