BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, March 11, 2009) – When you look at each of the point standings from the first two seasons of the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Power Equipment you will notice something. The driver listed as finishing second in points is the same driver.

Donny Reuvers, of Dundas, MN, has been a consistent runner in the ASAMT since the beginning. It wasn’t until last season that he finally got himself into victory lane, in fact he had three victories.

The first victory came at Dells Raceway Park as he literally fended off a late challenge by Steve Carlson to take the win. To prove that he was a serious contender, he followed that win up by winning the next event at Grundy County Speedway. Later in the year, he scored a huge victory at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN, a track that he purchased during the off season.

BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, November 06, 2008) – Donny Reuvers wears many hats. He is a driver, a partner in Short Track Racing Experience, a husband, a father, and a multiple track champion. As of Tuesday, November 4th, he put on a new hat as track owner as he and his partners at Short Track Racing Experience purchased Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN.

The Dundas, MN driver, who has finished second in the two seasons in the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment, is also a four-time champion of Raceway Park. He recently won his fourth straight track championship at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN.

Reuvers, who is 32, couldn’t pass up an opportunity, “The opportunity became available and I think it will be fun,” Reuvers stated from his hotel room in Las Vegas, NV where he will receive his NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Minnesota Championship this weekend. “John (Hellendrung, previous Raceway Park owner) wanted to get out and we have a passion for this sport and the industry that we didn’t want something to happen to this facility down the road.”

SHAKOPEE, MN (Sunday, August 17, 2008) – Donny Reuvers is a four-time defending track champion at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN. Tonight, he showed why as he collected his third American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment win of the season by winning the Shakopee 100 and gained valuable points on Dan Fredrickson.

“It was awesome; we had a really good car. We kind of screwed up in qualifying a little bit and I didn’t qualify as well as we should,” Reuvers stated in victory lane. “But that put on the front row but fortunately that put us on the front row which helped for the race.”

With fast qualifier Travis Sauter rolling a three and causing the top eleven to invert, that put Reuvers on the outside of the front row for the 100-lap main event and go wire-to-wire in the win.

Current ASAMT point leader Dan Fredrickson started eighth and was running a steady race working his way up to sixth. But with 10 laps to go, smoke started coming from his car and he would pull off two laps later allowing Reuvers to gain valuable points.
