BURLINGTON, WI (Sunday, June 08, 2008) – After four events, Matt Kocourek and Nick Murgic are showing that each are worthy of the Lane Automotive Rookie of the Year presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil and Hyperco. But, don’t count out Adam Hensel with the fifth event coming up this Friday at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Murgic made his first visit to Dells Raceway Park and appeared to have quickly adapted to the 1/3-mile oval. He started out the day by qualifying third, only 0.030 seconds behind fast qualifier Dan Fredrickson. He would finish 13th in the Miller Lite 100 presented by Arby’s, the highest finishing rookie.

“I was really excited about how qualifying went and was looking forward to the race,” Murgic stated. “We misjudged the track and about ten laps in, the car got very loose so I just had to hold on to what I had.”

While he battled with a loose handling car, he was able to gain some valuable experience in the race, “It was a fun race to be racing against guys like Dan Fredrickson, Johnny & Travis Sauter, Steve Carlson, and some of the local guys so I was just happy to have done that.”

BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, June 5, 2008) – The ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment would not be successful without the help of our marketing partners and sponsors. Last Sunday’s Miller Lite 100 presented by Arby’s had a great field of competitors with a majority taking home contingency bonuses.

In order to receive the awards, the driver must be a full ASA member and their teams must satisfy all manufacturers’ requirements (decals, patches and post race interview criteria.) The awards listed for each driver is on top of the event purse payout they received.

Miller Lite 100 presented by Arby’s Contingency Awards:

Donny Reuvers, 1st Place: AVCOMM, $100; Penske Racing, $100; Schaeffer’s Oil, one case of oil; Tilton, $125; Tex Racing, $100, ASAMT Touring Star Bonus: $400.

Steve Carlson, 2nd Place: Hawk, $100; Penske, $100; Schaeffer’s Diesel Treat, 12 pints.

Andrew Morrissey, 3rd Place: PF Friction, $100; Quarter Master $100; Touring Star Bonus, $350.

Travis Sauter, 4th Place: Hypercoils, One-Spring; Powertrain Tech, $150; PF Friction, $100; Touring Star Bonus, $325.

BURLINGTON, WI (Monday, June 02, 2008) – Donny Reuvers victory in the Miller Lite 100 presented by Arby’s at Dells Raceway Park on Sunday makes him the 11th different driver in 15 ASAMT starts to record a victory. Reuvers is one of four drivers to make every ASAMT feature race to date with Jonathan Eilen, Nathan Haseleu and Travis Sauter being the others.

GOPHER DOMINATION

Reuvers win continues a streak of domination by Minnesota competitors going back to last year’s ASAMT event at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN. This was the sixth straight win for the Minnesota group with Dan Fredrickson recording three of those wins at Shakopee, Oktoberfest, and Madison. The others include: Jake Ryan at Elko, Jonathan Eilen at Jefferson, and now Reuvers at Dells.

The last ASAMT winner outside of the Land of 10,000 Lakes was Kyle Busch back on August 7, 2007 with his win at Wisconsin International Raceway.

HARD CHARGING THROUGH THE FIELD

Of the 26 competitors who competed in the Miller Lite 100 presented by Arby’s, half of the field (13) actually finished ahead of where they started. The average of positions gained by those drivers was 4.69.

WISCONSIN DELLS, WI (Sunday, June 01, 2008) – Donny Reuvers has always been a patient driver behind the wheel of his Toyota Camry. Today, that patience paid off as he collects his first ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment win by taking the Miller Lite 100 presented by Arby’s at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

“Oh, it’s awesome! It’s something we have been working on for a year and a half,” a happy Reuvers stated in victory lane. “It’s awesome to do it here at the Dells with its rich heritage and with all of the guys here racing today and the competition level, it’s just incredible.”

Reuvers would lead every lap of the 100-lap affair that only saw two caution flags and took only 33 minutes to complete.

But, it wasn’t an easy drive for Reuvers as he held off challenges from Kenny Richards in the early going and Steve Carlson in the final stages.
