Dan Fredrickson

BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, May 22, 2008) – After competing at one of the series most challenging tracks, Dan Fredrickson’s fourth place finish allowed him to stay on top of the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment’s point standings after three events. With his fourth place finish in the Kwik Trip Stores 100 at Jefferson Speedway this past Saturday, he now holds a 69 point lead over Andrew Morrissey.

Morrissey, who is coming off his third place finish at Jefferson, may be one of the biggest surprises this season in the ASAMT. With a recent sponsor signing, he could be a contender for the championship. He had a strong run at each of the three events so far this season. His worse finish came at Madison where he did lead the most laps but was involved in a late caution with Travis Sauter and came home with a 12th place finish.

Morrissey will be one to watch at Dells Raceway Park on Sunday, June 1st. Last year, he finished second in points and had six feature wins at the 1/3 mile facility.

BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, May 07, 2008) – Back in January, Dan Fredrickson made this statement, “Going into this season, if we get a good start and have a good time at what we are doing, we will make a run for the points.” After two events, its safe to say that he is on track as he holds a 62-point lead over Josh Vadnais after two events.

Fredrickson picked up his fourth ASAMT win this past Sunday in the ECHO Chainsaw 100 at Madison International Speedway. This was a great follow-up to his second place finish at the opening event at Elko Speedway back in April.

He also has collected an ECHO Blower for picking up the Fast Qualifier award at Elko and came up .002 seconds short of beating Jacob Goede at Madison.

Fredrickson will look at continuing his good start at the Kwik Trip Stores 100 on Saturday, May 17th at Jefferson Speedway.

OREGON, WI (Sunday, May 04, 2008) – Dan Fredrickson will admit that he never had a good run at Madison International Speedway. After tonight, Madison is one of his favorite tracks as he captured the ASAMT ECHO Chainsaw 100 in front of a large crowd.

“I haven’t won here and never been real good here, but had a pretty sweet car here tonight,” a happy Fredrickson stated in victory lane. “I hope we can keep going with this, it was cool to beat Carlson and Busch. And now Madison is one of my favorite tracks.”

Fredrickson held off a late charge from Steve Carlson to take his fourth ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment win. “The deal here is you can’t run pretty well with someone on your back bumper. But once I got two car lengths on him, I could run my line and run better.” Fredrickson stated.

Dan Fredrickson stands tall, looks tough, and carefully thinks about what he wants to say. He almost appears to be a gentle giant, that is until you get him behind the wheel and you watch him charge to the front.

The Lakeville, MN driver made a huge impact in the inaugural season of the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment by being the only driver to take home more than one win. In fact, he took home three point wins (four all together) in three different states that the ASAMT visited in 2007. In nine starts, he finished seventh in points with three wins, five top-five and six top-ten finishes.

He captured a non-point win last July at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. He followed that up with a convincing win at Grundy County Speedway. He then put on a show at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN and followed that up by capping off a great weekend of racing by claiming his first Oktoberfest victory at La Crosse.

Sunday, October 07, 2007 (West Salem, WI) – Dan Fredrickson ended his Oktoberfest Race Weekend on a high note as he claimed the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment’s Oktoberfest 100 season finale at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. For Fredrickson it was fitting end to a somewhat frustrating weekend.

On Friday night, Fredrickson tied with Steve Holzhausen the “Dick Trickle 99” event, only to lose on a tie-breaker. On Saturday, both also tied in qualifying with a lap of 19.133 seconds (a new ASAMT track record), and again, Holzhausen won on a tie-breaker.

On Sunday, it was Fredrickson blowing away the competition as he dominated the 100-lap event. “I’m glad he fell off,” Fredrickson stated after the race in regards to Holzhausen falling behind him. “I love racing him, but I am tired enough of him,” Fredrickson jokingly said.

OKTOBERFEST 100 FULL RESULTS

It was Dean Cornelius grabbing the early lead in the feature event. Fredrickson started tenth and was easily clipping off spot after spot with Holzhausen right behind him.

SHAKOPEE, MN (August 12, 2007) - Dan Fredrickson continued his Summer hot streak as he took the lead in dramatic fashion, with just a few laps to go as he won the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour, Presented By Echo Outdoor Power Equipment’s Shakopee 100 Presented by Prairie Lawn and Garden at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN.

Polesitter Travis Sauter took control of the race as Jonathan Eilen quickly pulled in behind in the opening laps. Dean Cornelius brought out the first of many cautions in the event, when he bounced off the turn four wall, breaking something on his car, which then sent it slamming into the turn one wall, ending his night only five laps into the race. Sauter and Eilen picked up the battle for the lead as they ran bumper-to-bumper out in front. Five more cautions through the middle stages of the race prevented Sauter and Eilen from putting too many cars a lap down as they continued to fight for the lead. Steve Carlson ran in third, with Adam Royle right behind as they shadowed the leaders. Royle would get by Carlson on lap 53 and he rapidly closed in on Sauter and Eilen, who remained close at the front of the field.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (August 10, 2007) - Dan Fredrickson has been on a hot streak the last few races and he looks for that to continue as the Lakeville, MN driver readies for the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment event at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN. The Shakopee 100, Presented by Prairie Lawn and Garden will take to the track on Sunday August 12th with Fredrickson leading the list of top Minnesota drivers that will be hosting the top drivers from throughout the Midwest.

Fredrickson has tasted success in the past at Raceway Park and after chasing races in neighboring states, he gets a chance to race close to home. "It’s a tight short little track, you get a lot of little bumps and rubber on the doors here and there, it’s kind of a nitty-gritty deal and it’s cool," said Fredrickson. "It should be a good show for the fans, we had a couple good runs the last few times that we have been there and we hope to do good there again."
