We would like to congratulate all on your cars at Elko! There was minimal Tech items for us to work on for this coming week. Remember to have your valance's to the proper heights and your rear spoilers mounted on the correct side (I.E.. centered) of the rear bumper cover. If not they will have to be moved at the track. Mufflers will be top of the list this weekend at Madison, If you have a question about the dB rule email or call Mike Lemke. Remember pre tech is to help you to not get you DQ'ed at the end of the night. Hope fully if any thing is noticed it can and will be corrected by feature time. Any major rule infraction in post race tech will get you DQ'ed and possibly fined at the end of the night. So please have your cars race ready for pre tech.

Performance Friction Calipers
An agreement has been reached with Performance Friction Brakes (PFB). The "Short Track Style" Caliper will be sold to all ASAMT and ASASAT Teams for $499.00.
This caliper must be bought directly from PFB. Please call Derek Spencer (800.521.8874) at PFB for details.
You must state your car number and your ASA Membership Number to buy this caliper direct from PFB.

Mufflers
Many cars did not meet the ASA Midwest Tour decibel rule (95 DBs) at Elko Speedway. Cars at the Madison International Speedway Event on May 4th will be required to meet this rule.
Cars not meeting the rule in practice will be asked to fix their problem before qualifying. Cars not able to fix the issue, or are still over the limit during pratice will be penalized (50 lbs added).
Cars will be checked again during qualifying, if still not in compliance, that car will have its fast lap removed.
PLEASE remember noise is a problem for all tracks and we need our cars to be in compliance with our rules.

TESTING RULE IN EFFECT RESTATED

A. Track Testing Procedure
Testing at any track on the current ASA MIDWEST TOUR schedule is prohibited within seven (7) calendar days of a scheduled ASA MIDWEST TOUR event, without permission from the ASA MIDWEST TOUR Office. Any driver; team owner; crew member and/or car that practices or tests, without permission from the ASA MIDWEST TOUR Office, at a track on the current ASA MIDWEST TOUR schedule within the stated “no testing” time frame will be deemed ineligible for competition at that venue for the season. Additional penalties may be assessed at the discretion of ASA MIDWEST TOUR Management.

EXCEPTION
You may run at any track where your ASAMT car is legal whenever that track has a race with open competition. You do not need to be a member of the track or club to participate at their event. There is no time or date limit provided your car is legal and the event is open competition.

Example- ASAMT or Local Competitors CAN race at WIR on August 2nd with no penalty

Until further notice the Performance Friction Calipers may not be used in ASAMWT competition. The calipers are over our price limits as stated in our rules. We have been working on this with Performance Friction but at this time this matter has not yet been resolved. Hopefully in the near future this will be resolved.

Also please remember if you purchased a new carb over the off season you should bring it to pre-tech with you at Elko. Some of the new Holley castings do not meet our booster height rules. Please make sure that we look at any new carbs before they are run in a race. We don't need to add more to my carb collection from last year. The new castings are still not approved in ASAMWT competition. We are still working on this with Holley. As most of you know the Dorton style carb is allowed as long as it meets all of our specs.
