Tech Articles

For the WIR race the Dixieland 150 for pre-tech please have carbs and spacers loose and bring those to the tech area. We will also need one spark plug out so we can P&G all cars. Please make sure you will be able to install a 4 inch adaptor in your cylinder head. We will not need valve covers off or rockers off. Any questions please ask. Please make sure you are ready before coming to the scale area.

Thanx

To All ASA Tracks & Series: Please see the latest update regarding the Impact / SFI issue. IMPACT PRESS RELEASE 6/21/2010

On June 21st, 2010, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana issued a ruling granting, in part, Impact Racing's motion to preliminarily enjoin SFI Foundation from terminating Impact's Contract of Participation with SFI until SFI "does so in a manner that is unquestionably 'substantively rational and procedurally fair." According to the Court, "Impact has made a strong showing of likely success on the merits" and "until Impact is afforded fair procedure, Impact could suffer irreparable harm, if it has not already."

We have fielded many questions regarding the latest press release from SFI regarding Impact safety equipment. (See Below)

As an SFI member, it is ASA Racing’s position that you should closely look at your rules for your track or series and carefully monitor the situation at Impact. SFI has described the issues with the non-compliant items thoroughly in the release.

We suggest that you post the SFI notification for all competitors to see. If any of their equipment falls within the ‘non-compliant’ SFI standards; and your rules track SFI standards, it is our belief that you should not allow the equipment described until SFI certifies the equipment in question.

Safety is of the upmost of importance in this industry and even though we do not have any control over your rules, we believe the issues in question are significant enough to warrant this notification.
