From the Tim Schendel Pits...SCHENDEL TO RACE AGAINST NASCAR STARS IN ALL-STAR CHALLENGE RACE AT MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart to be Schendelʼs competition on Tuesday
Sparta, WI, June 29, 2009 -- Tim Schendel and the Iron Eagle Racing team will be back
at the Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI this week to take on NASCAR
Sprint Cup stars Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart in the Swiss Colony All-Star Challenge
Series on Tuesday, June 30. In addition to the NASCAR drivers, the 100-lap race will
also feature some of the best super late model drivers in the Midwest--Steve Carlson,
Nathan Haseleu, Bryan Reffner, and Jeremy Lepak, to name a few. It will be a very
competitive field, but one Schendel has mastered before.

“I raced Matt and Tony last year in Madison in the All-Star Challenge and had alot of fun.
Itʼs always good to race to against these guys. They definitely push an already
competitive field to another level.” Schendel, a Sparta, WI native, stated. “Itʼs a good
feeling knowing I can run with these guys and be competitive.”

Last year, Schendel ran a strong first half of the Swiss Colony All-Star Challenge race in
second place until handling proved a problem and finished in ninth place, ahead of
Stewart and Busch. Kenseth finished second while Steve Carlson went away with the
win. Schendel is hoping for a strong run this year and that the bad luck he has been
experiencing in his regular series, the ASA Midwest Tour, is finally gone.

“We spent the past week trying to figure out whatʼs been going on with the #21 TexPar
Energy Chevrolet. We had motor issues the past couple ASA races and I think we may
have the kinks worked out. Weʼll see on Tuesday but Iʼm really hopeful!” Schendel
said.

Although this is not an ASA Midwest Tour race, the All-Star Challenge series abides by
similar rules and car set up. Schendelʼs next regularly scheduled ASA Midwest Tour
race is Friday, July 3 in Cedar Rapids, IA for the 100 lap “37th Annual Keith Fleck Miller
100” feature race.

Qualifying for the Swiss Colony All-Star Challenge Series begins at 4p and racing action
gets under way at 7p on Tuesday.
