BURLINGTON, WI (Friday, June 26, 2009) – It will be the only time that the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment will be racing on a Friday night this season. It will be next Friday, July 3rd at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, IA for the 37th Annual Keith Fleck Miller 100.
Steve Carlson will be going for his third in a row, sixth overall win in this prestigious event. Last year, Carlson dominated the 100-lap event by holding off Johnny Sauter and Dan Fredrickson for his fifth victory. His previous wins came in 1996, 1997, 2001, 2007 and now, 2008.
Joining the ASAMT Touring Stars for this year’s event is current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point leader Ron Hornaday, Jr. Hornaday recently won his second Truck Series event at The Milwaukee Mile. The four-time Series champion will be looking for his first ASAMT win at Hawkeye Downs.
Hornaday will be arriving on Thursday night and will be at a pre-race party at Checkers Tavern which is located near the track.

Coming into the July 3rd event, Nathan Haseleu holds a 61-point lead over Jonathan Eilen and a 67-point lead over Carlson. The 2007 ASAMT Champion has finished in the top-ten at every event so far this season including the season opening win in the Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway back on May 3rd.
Joining the ASAMT Super Late Models will be the Hawkeye Downs Modifieds and Hornet divisions.
The schedule for July 3rd is: Noon – Pits open; 1:45 p.m. – first ASAMT practice; 2:45 p.m. – second ASAMT practice; 5:00 p.m. – ASAMT ECHO/Oregon Cutting Systems “Quick Cut” Qualifying; 6:00 p.m. – ASAMT Autograph Session; 7:00 p.m. – Racing begins.
Advance adult tickets are $17 and are available through the Hawkeye Downs Speedway office. Adult tickets on raceday are $20. Ages 6-11 are $5 and ages 5 and under are FREE.
