WEGNER MOTORSPORTS SUPPORTS THE ASAMT TEAMS IN 2009

By: Kevin Ramsell
BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, June 24, 2009) – Part of the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment’s success is due to the reliable built engines that its competitors compete with. One of the better known engine builders, Wegner Motorsports, has joined with the other area engine builders in showing their support this season.

“Wegner Motorsports has been a major part of Super Late Model racing in the Midwest for many years and they have a lot of championships under their belts,” Steve Einhaus, ASAMT Vice President stated. “Their support at the race track shows up in their performance and they are always willing to help the racer out no matter who their engine builder is.”

This season, Wegner Motorsports will be giving away two race ready 4412 carburetors at the 2009 ASAMT Championship Banquet.

Wegner Motorsports was started in 1975 when Carl Wegner opened Wegner Automotive in a machine shed in his backyard. What started out as one man and his passion to do each project greater than the last one, Wegner Motorsports today has more then 30 people and has taken over more than 7500 square feet of the original backyard with no end in site.

Their engines have competed in nearly every NASCAR division, most notably winning multiple championships in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Their short track engines have won multiple championships on dirt and asphalt.

They also have a number of CNC machines so they can not only refine their performance engines but they also manufacture many of the parts used on their engines as well as an entire line of products available to consumers.

The ASAMT teams who compete with Wegner Motorsports engines will test their horsepower with other built engines on Friday, July 3rd at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, IA for the 37th Annual Keith Fleck Miller 100.
