From the Tim Schendel Pits... A DISAPPOINTING WEEKEND AT THE DELLS FOR SCHENDEL After wrestling a hard handling car and an accident, Schendel finishes 21st

Sparta, WI, June 1, 2009 -- The fourth ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO
Outdoor Power Equipment race at the Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells did not
turn out the way Tim Schendel and his Iron Eagle Racing team had hoped. It took a lot
of preserverance and determination on Schendelʼs behalf to qualify and finish the race.
The day started out good with Schendel taking 8th in the first of two practices. It was in
the second practice that Schendel started grappling with a car that seemed to “bottom
out” around the racetrack. The adjustments made prior to qualifying didnʼt help and
Schendel qualified the #21 TexPar Energy Chevrolet in 27th place after having to
compete in and winning the last chance race. It was during this last chance race that
Schendelʼs car was hit causing some front end damage.

This bad luck followed Schendel into the feature race. During lap one in the first corner,
an accident happened in front of Schendel. Schendel brake checked and was hit from
behind causing rear end damage and forcing him off of the track. During repairs, he lost
34 laps but was able to finish the race in 21st place.

“The day definitely did not go as we had planned.” Schendel said. “We had alot of bad
breaks but all we can do is look ahead and put this race behind us. We have three
weeks off until the next race and weʼre focused on that now.”
There were ten caution flags flown during the race, an unusual number for an ASA
Midwest Series race. West Salemʼs Steve Carlson took home the win with Steve
Holzhausen and Nathan Haseleu rounding out the top three.

Schendelʼs bad luck dropped him into a third place tie in ASA Midwest Series points with
Steve Carlson and Chris Wimmer. Nathan Haseleu remains in first place and Dan
Fredrickson is second.

Schendel will have three weeks to regroup before the next ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour
presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment race. The next race is scheduled for
June 20 in Schererville, IN at the Illiana Speedway.
