WIMMER SHATTERS ASAMT TRACK RECORD AT NORWAY

7:10PM - Last Chance Results
Kyle Calmes won the 20-lap Last Chance race with Joey Miller in second. Those two earned the final two starting spots for tonight’s Labor Day 100.

Dalton Zehr will get the ASAMT provisional while Bob Danes getting the Norway Speedway provisional.

The Labor Day 100 is coming up next.

6:55PM - Heat & Dash Results

Dan Fredrickson made up some points he lost in qualifying to win the Odd Qualifier Heat with Andrew Morrissey in second and Tim Schendel in third.

After qualifying, Reuvers gained 12 points on Fredrickson.

The two local favorites got together in the Even Heat as Jamie Iverson tapped Kris Kelly on lap three coming off of turn two causing Kelly to spin. Both were sent to the rear.

After the caution, it was Greg Haese winning the even heat with Tom Gee Jr. in second. Blake Horstman was third.

Reuvers finished sixth in the even heat. With Fredrickson’s win and Reuvers sixth, Fredrickson has a three-point lead going into the main event.

The Last Chance Race is next.

Russ Blakeley won the Wehr’s Machine Odd Qualifier heat with Rich Loch in second and Mike Reichenber was third. Those three will get a starting spot for the Labor Day 100 later tonight.

Dillon Kralovetz won the second qualifier with Mark Kraus in second and Bryan Roach in third. These three also got a starting spot for the tonight’s main event.

Qualifier races are coming up.

4:30PM - Qualifying Results - Top 25 under last year’s record

Chris Wimmer earned his second ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment “Blows the Competition Away” Fast Qualifier award as he shattered the track record for tonight’s Labor Day 100 at Norway Speedway in Norway, MI. Wimmer had a fast time of 14.284 seconds, beating the time of 14.703 seconds set by Nathan Haseleu last year. In fact, the top 25 in qualifying were under the old record.

Jonathan Eilen was second quick with a time of 14.329 seconds with Jeff Storm in third with a time of 14.386 seconds. Donny Reuvers, who came into Norway only five points behind Dan Fredrickson in the standings, was fourth quick with a time of 14.404 seconds. Haseleu rounded out the top five with a time of 14.426 seconds.

Two local favorites to note, Jamie Iverson of nearby Escanaba, MI was 12th fastest with a time of 14.501 seconds while Norway’s very own Kris Kelly made it into the show as he grabbed the final spot taken out of qualifying with a 16th fastest time of 14.580 seconds.

The autograph session will be starting shortly with racing beginning at 6:00 pm. The stands are starting to fill up here and it’s a great night for racing.

In pre-race ceremonies, Wimmer rolled a five to create a 13-car invert for the Labor Day 100 putting Dan Fredrickson and Jamie Iverson on the front row.

2:45PM - Practice #2 Results
Tim Schendel set a fast lap time 14.542 seconds to lead the final practice session for the ASAMT Labor Day 100 at Norway Speedway in Norway, MI. Dan Fredrickson was second with a time of 14.583 seconds.

Chris Wimmer stayed on top of the charts with a time of 14.601 seconds with Joey Miller, making his first ASAMT event of the year, in fourth with a time of 14.687 seconds.

Leading Lane Automotive Rookie of the Year competitor Nick Murgic rounds out the top five with a time of 14.709 seconds.

The qualifying tech line is now open with qualifying scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm, autograph session at 5:00 pm with the first race at 6:00 pm.

2:00PM - Practice #1 Results
The first practice has just completed for the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment’s Labor Day 100 at Norway Speedway in Norway, MI. Tim Schendel had a lap time of 14.670 seconds late in the session to record the fastest lap in the session.

Dan Fredrickson was second fastest with a time of 14.734 seconds with Chris Wimmer third fastest at a time of 14.768 seconds.

Norway, MI hometown hero Kris Kelly was fourth fastest with a time of 14.770 seconds. Rich Loch rounded out the top five with a time of 14.805 seconds.

Second practice coming up shortly.

The ASAMT teams are starting to arrive at Norway Speedway for today's running of the Labor Day 100.

Qualifying will start at 4:00pm with the autograph session at 5:00pm. Racing starts at 6:00pm.

The ASAMT will be the showcase today for the Dickinson County Fair which is where Norway Speedway is located.
