SCAG POWER EQUIPMENT DIXIELAND 150 RACE DAY UPDATES

10:18PM
Jonathan Eilen took the lead over from Steve Holzhausen on lap 13 to lead at the halfway mark of the SCAG Power Equipment Dixieland 150 at WIR. The first 75 laps ran caution free.

Steve Carlson was closing in on Eilen when the caution flew for the halfway break. Holzhausen is in third with Dan Fredrickson in fourth. Kyle Calmes is in fifth.

Mike Gardner is sixth with Brett Moffitt in seventh. Nathan Haseleu is eighth and Tim Schendel is in ninth. Jamie Iverson rounds out the top-ten.

Kyle Busch got as high as fifth in the early going and has fallen back to 12th.

The biggest news to happen in the first 75-laps is that Donny Reuvers is out of the race. Reuvers retired on lap 43 with rear end problems. Going into tonight, he was only 58-points behind Dan Fredrickson in the championship standings.

The only other car out at the halfway break is Rich Bickle Jr. who went out on lap 50 with handling problems.

The second half will start shortly.

8:30PM - Last Chance Results
Blake Horstman and Rich Bickle Jr. finished first and second in the last chance race to advance to the SCAG Power Equipment Dixieland 150 at WIR.

Bickle, the 1989 champion, made a late race pass on Doug Mahlik to make the show.

Travis Sauter will get the ASAMT provisional while Andy Monday will receive the WIR provisional.

The Big 8 Series 38-lap feature is on the track and the main event is coming up.

8:00PM - Heat Results
The fast heats just ended for the ASAMT’s SCAG Power Equipment Dixieland 150 at WIR.

Tim Rothe won the odd heat with Chris Wimmer in second and Nathan Haseleu in third.

There were two incidents in the even heat when Eugene Gregorich got loose in turn one, went up the track and collected Donny Reuvers. Reuvers did go to the pits for repairs while Gregorich was able to continue. The second happened when it appeared that Brett Moffitt may have broke his left rear trailing arm going into turn one. He was taken off on the hook back to the pits for repairs.

Andrew Morrissey held off Jamie Iverson and Jonathan Eilen for the win in the even heat.

7:30PM
Tim Schendel, Nick Neville and Jeff VanOudenhoven each earned a starting spot for tonight’s 150-lap main event by finishing in the top-three, respectively, in the first qualifier race.

There was only one incident in the first qualifier as Andy Monday and Mark Krause got together in turns three and four while battling for third on lap four. Nick Murgic and Travis Sauter were also involved. Murgic got his spot back because he spun to avoid while Sauter went into the pits and returned.

John Meidam won the second qualifier with Jeff Storm in second and Brandon Hill in third. These top-three also will start tonight’s main event.

The Last Chance Race is coming up.

6:45PM
Kyle Busch’s time of 19.268 seconds earns him his first ever ECHO “Blows the Competition Away” award for the American Speed Association’s Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipments SCAG Power Equipment Dixieland 150 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, WI. His fast time is a new ASAMT track record beating the mark set last year by Nate Haseleu who had a time of 19.422 seconds.

“It was a good run,” Busch stated. “It kind of came out of nowhere, I guess. It was good to be able to have quick time.”

Busch picks up an ECHO Power Blower for his efforts, “I’m sure it will be useful, Fall is coming up so we will be able to use it.”

In fact, the top-four in qualifying were under last year’s fast time. Donny Reuvers was second with a time of 19.317 seconds with Steve Carlson in third with a time of 19.346 seconds. Mike Gardner’s time of 19.420 was good for fourth while Kyle Calmes was fifth with a time of 19.426 seconds.

Busch rolled a two in pre-race ceremonies, so the top-ten will be inverted for tonight’s 150-lap main event. “I don’t know, the roll always kills us so we always have to start far in the back and you can never get through the field,” Busch, who will start tenth stated. “I don’t know, it will be tough so we have to see.”

Jonathan Eilen and Steve Holzhausen lead the field of 26 to the start of tonight’s SCAG Power Equipment Dixieland 150.

The qualifying races will be coming up!!!
