2:00 UPDATE
NEWTON, IOWA (Saturday, July 19, 2008) – Practice is underway at Iowa Speedway for tomorrow’s Rasmussen Group Twin 75’s for the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment.

Only one incident has occurred so far today and it appears to be a minor one. Around 1:30 pm, Kris Kelly’s car broke loose as he was going into turn three and he made contact with the Speedway’s SAFER barrier. Kelly was able to drive the car back to the garage area. He stated that the rear end broke loose and went for a ride.

2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Matt Kenseth is also on hand practicing this afternoon. Kenseth was the first ASAMT car to hit the track at around 11:45 am. He will be driving the same car he finished second in at the The Swiss Colony All-Star Challenge and won the Slinger Nationals with this past Tuesday night.

Currently, the track is shut down until 2:30 pm with another session scheduled from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. The final session will begin at 4:00 pm and will last until 5:00 pm.

Please note the link on top of this page to view the Iowa Speedway webcam that will show the garage area and the action coming off of turn four.
