ASAMT & ITS SUPPORTERS TO ASSIST FLOOD VICTIMS

By: Kevin Ramsell
BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, July 02, 2008) – The recent flooding in the Midwest has had a great impact on many. The ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment even felt the effects as it had to postpone the 36th Annual Keith Fleck Miller 100, originally scheduled for Friday, June 13th, to a new date of Friday, July 18th creating a “Western Swing” as the Tour will also be competing at Iowa Speedway that same weekend.

Dudley Fleck, Promoter of the Keith Fleck Miller 100 has announced that $3 of every ticket sold for the Friday, July 18th event at Hawkeye Downs will be donated to flood relief and Mike McGrath will be donating a car to raffle with those proceeds to go to flood relief as well.

Starting this Saturday with the July Spectacular 100 at I-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN, 2007 ASAMT Rookie of the Year Jonathan Eilen will be partnering with his sponsor Outdoor Connection in an effort to raise money for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

For every 250 tickets sold, one name will be drawn to win a hunting or fishing trip courtesy of the Outdoor Connection.

Outdoor Connection is “The Worldwide Hunting and Fishing Authority.” They provide the race fan with a resource for all of their outdoor travel needs. Outdoor Connection represents over 250 lodges, guides and outfitters located around the globe. Big game hunts, world-class wing shooting and fly-fishing destinations, along with the best fresh and saltwater fishing gives you, your hunting party, or your company and clients only the finest choices when it comes to planning your next hunting or fishing outing.

For more information, please visit their special site at www.huntfishrace.com. The drawing will take place on Sunday, July 20th at Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA.

“This is only the tip of the iceberg on what we are planning to do with helping the flood victims in the Midwest,” Steve Einhaus, ASAMT VP stated. “We have more ideas in the works to where we can make a positive impact to those who were affected.”

The next event for the ASAMT will be this Saturday, July 5th at I-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN for the running of the July Spectacular 100.

ASAMT practice will begin at 1:30 pm on Saturday with qualifying scheduled for 5:00 pm. The popular Autograph session will take place at 5:45 pm with the first race at 7:00 pm.
The I-94 Raceway Legends, UCARS, Modifieds, and Thunder Cars will also be in action this Saturday night.
