HASELEU & REUVERS NAMED STATE CHAMPIONS BY LATE MODEL DIGEST

By: Kevin Ramsell (www.kevinramsell.com)
Tuesday, January 22, 2008 (Daytona Beach, FL) – The post season accolades continue to come in for 2007 ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment Champion, Nate Haseleu. He, along with second place finisher Donny Reuvers, was named as State Champions by Late Model Digest.

LMD Editor, Jim Carson, stated in the January 16, 2008 issue that he followed NASCAR’s new program for its Whelen All-American Series State Champion recognition, but he solely focused on the Late Model community as NASCAR’s program is open to dirt tracks and other racing divisions. Also, this was open to any Late Model driver in any series with the exception of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, ARCA, formerly known NASCAR West and Busch East Series. And the states indicate where the drivers lived during 2007 and not where they raced.

Haseleu was recognized as Wisconsin’s State Champion for what Carson states as, “pulling off an unthinkable double crown” by winning the ASAMT Championship along with the Wisconsin Challenge Series championship with only one win in each series. Along with the win, Haseleu had six top-five and seven top-ten finishes in 11 ASAMT events in 2007.

Reuvers was named as Minnesota’s State Champion by Carson for, “winning championships at Elko Speedway and Raceway Park in the same season for the third year in a row.” Reuvers was also crowned as the State Champion in NASCAR’s Whelen All-American Series standings as well. Reuvers finished with four top-five and eight top-ten finishes in 11 starts.

Both drivers are prime example of ASA Racing’s motto of “We Build Champions!”

Haseleu and Reuvers will be honored for their accomplishments in the ASA Midwest Tour this Saturday night at its Championship Banquet at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

Hor D’oeuvres will be served from 6-7 p.m. with a complimentary bar from 6-8 p.m. A cash bar will follow.

A plated dinner will then be served starting at 7 p.m. featuring: Chef Carved Traditional London Broil with Bordelaise Sauce, Chicken Forestierre (breast of chicken with fresh sautéed mushrooms, laced with demi-glace), chef’s choice of starch or vegetable, assorted dessert table, coffee, milk, and soda.

The Awards Ceremony will follow dinner.

The banquet ticket is $50 a person. This includes the hor d’oeuvres, open bar (6-8 p.m.), dinner and dessert.
After the awards ceremony, everyone is invited to the Kahunaville Night Club at the Kalahari for an after banquet party. The Kahunaville features bartenders that add acrobatic flair by tossing and catching glasses and bottles while mixing your favorite drink.

On Sunday, January 27th, the waterpark will be open to the families while the 2008 participants are invited to an informational meeting starting at 11 a.m. at the Kalahari. If you are unable to make the banquet on Saturday night, you are more than welcome to attend this meeting on Sunday.

The Kalahari Resort is located right off of Interstate 90/94 at exit 92 in Wisconsin Dells, WI. It has 740 beautifully appointed African-themed guest rooms and suites that can easily accommodate your race team and guests.
