Monday, January 21, 2008 (Daytona Beach, FL) – Final preparations are being made for the 2007 ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour Presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment Championship Banquet this Saturday night at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Along with honoring the top drivers from the 2007 season, three drivers will be going home with a brand new race engine.

Tesar Engineering located in Long Lake, MN, B & B Racing Engines located in Appleton, WI and Pro Power Racing in Sullivan, WI will each be giving away a new engine this Saturday night. This giveaway alone is over $75,000 and only a part of the awards to be handed out this Saturday night. “Over 30 different engine parts manufacturers from across the nation have donated the parts to these engines. Carburetor to oil pan, they’ll be complete and ready to race,” stated Steve Einhaus, ASAMT VP.

The eligible drivers for this drawing must have competeted in 75% of the ASAMT races and ran a built racing engine during the 2007 season in 75% of the races.

“Tim (Olson, ASAMT President) and I would like to thank Tesar, B & B Racing Engines, and Pro Power for their participation in this award program,” Einhaus recently stated. “To have these three engine builders participate goes to show how much they appreciate the business they receive from our race teams that compete in the ASA Midwest Tour. It will be one of many exciting events we have planned for this weekend.”

Hor D’oeuvres will be served from 6-7 p.m. with a complimentary bar from 6-8 p.m. A cash bar will follow.

A plated dinner will then be served starting at 7 p.m. featuring: Chef Carved Traditional London Broil with Bordelaise Sauce, Chicken Forestierre (breast of chicken with fresh sautéed mushrooms, laced with demi-glace), chef’s choice of starch or vegetable, assorted dessert table, coffee, milk, and soda.

The Awards Ceremony will follow dinner.

The banquet ticket is $50 a person. This includes the hor d’oeuvres, open bar (6-8 p.m.), dinner and dessert.

After the awards ceremony, everyone is invited to the Kahunaville Night Club at the Kalahari for an after banquet party. The Kahunaville features bartenders that add acrobatic flair by tossing and catching glasses and bottles while mixing your favorite drink.

On Sunday, January 27th, the waterpark will be open to the families while the 2008 participants are invited to an informational meeting starting at 11 a.m. at the Kalahari. If you are unable to make the banquet on Saturday night, you are more than welcome to attend this meeting on Sunday.

The Kalahari Resort is located right off of Interstate 90/94 at exit 92 in Wisconsin Dells, WI. It has 740 beautifully appointed African-themed guest rooms and suites that can easily accommodate your race team and guests.

Their Convention Center was awarded the “Best Hotel for Business Meetings!” in 2005, 2006, & 2007 by the Corporate Resort Wisconsin. The Kalahari Resort is the largest Convention Center Resort in Wisconsin with 100,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
