DAYTONA BEACH, FL (October 24, 2006) – The ASA Midwest Tour is pleased to announce sponsorship from Five Star Race Car Bodies.
Five Star is located in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, and is committed to providing the racing community with quality after market body panels specifically designed for racing. What started as a side job for co-owners Fran Prestay and Carl Schultz in the late 1970s is now a 120,000 square foot facility housing over 80 employees in engineering, design, composite molding, metal and window forming, and the national sales office.
Schultz expressed great confidence in the Tour, saying, "We are excited about the ASA Midwest Tour and proud to be part of the contingency awards program. There is a large group of very talented late model race teams in the upper Midwest most of whom are long time customers of Five Star. We are impressed with Steve and Tim and the team they are assembling. We think their plan will give the racers and the fans everything they are looking for."
All ASA Midwest Tour cars are outfitted with Five Star offset fiberglass ABC bodies. Available in Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge or Pontiac styles, these bodies have established an industry standard for design, construction, and technical inspection of the bodies for offset template late models throughout North America.
“There is a reason why Five Star is the leader in Stock Car Bodies and their commitment to the sport leads the way. It's going to be a great relationship between Five Star and the ASA Midwest Tour. Carl and Fran are great to work with and the quality of their product is superb! I can't thank them enough for immediately stepping in to support our plans for 2007,” Vice President/PR and Event Director Stephen Einhaus affirmed.
