From the Tim Schendel Pits... SCHENDEL WINS THE “WISCONSIN DELLS 100”
After a string of bad luck, Schendel finally takes the checkered flag

Sparta, WI, August 15, 2010 -- Itʼs been a while since ASA Midwest Touring Star and Sparta, WI native, Tim Schendel has visited victory circle but on Saturday, August 14, he found his way back! Schendel took the checked flag after leading most of the Wisconsin Dells 100 followed by Chris Weinkauf and rookie Griffin McGrath. This was the eighth race on the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and grandstay.netʼs schedule.

“It feels so good to get that monkey off my back!” an elated Schendel said after the race. “The crew works so hard every week and Iʼm glad it finally paid off. It seemed like bad luck was following us every race this year. We had gotten really close a couple of races. It just feels really good that we finally won one!”

Schendel qualified the #21 TexPar Energy/Festival Foods of Mauston Chevrolet in eighth place. He started the race in third after the invert. He took the lead prior to the mandatory pit stop at lap 75. After leading the field back out onto the track, he held his lead, as much as five car lengths, for the rest of the twenty five laps.

Schendel and the ASA Midwest Tour head to Marshfield on Saturday, August 21 for the Marshfield 100. Schendel won in Marshfield in 2008 and was his last win prior to this race.
