QA1 DEVELOPS SHOCK OF THE FUTURE

ASA Midwest Sportsman Tour to Debut at Dells Opener

By: Kari Shear-Carlson
(Friday, March 5, 2010) QA1 is the leader in performance shocks, rod ends and suspension components for motorsports. This is why the American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and Grandstay® Residential Suites Hotels is proud to have QA1 as a contingency sponsor for all three divisions in 2010. QA1 offers the most complete line of shock absorbers for the racing / performance market of any manufacturer. QA1 is also number one in rod ends for motorsports with over 5,000 part numbers and more than a million units sold annually.

QA1 was founded in 1993 and quickly became the #1 name in rod ends and spherical bearings sold into performance racing. In 1998, QA1 entered the drag market with the purchase of HAL Shocks. Over the next six years, QA1 improved the products and added shocks engineered for circle track and street performance. In 2004, QA1 purchased Carrera Shocks and is now the #1 manufacturer of performance racing shocks. Everyone at QA1 prides themselves on making the highest quality parts at the most affordable price.

QA1 has an extensive manufacturing facility in Lakeville, Minnesota including over 15 CNC machines, state-of-the-art injection molding machines, hydraulic presses, and spin-riveting and laser-etching equipment that permit all inclusive shock absorber assembly operations. Its customer service staff is thoroughly cross-trained and supported by engineering and technical staff to address application and product-specific needs. QA1’s quality system is certified to the ISO9001: 2000 standard.

QA1 also offers innovative, patented high performance adjustable ball joints. This patented technology by QA1 is already in full production use at several major ATV, snowmobile, utility vehicle, and electric vehicle companies. QA1 has now utilized this technology in ball joints designed and engineered exclusively for high performance racing applications. This completely revolutionary ball joint design will rock the racing world! For the ultimate in low friction operation (0 ft. lbs. breakaway torque!) and the most wear resistant design, look no further than QA1.

QA1 has set the bar pretty high in their latest development of the 26 series rebuildable shock that will debut on ASA Midwest Sportsman Tour cars in April. They had three things in mind, cost, performance and reliability and they did just that. The new 26 Series shocks utilize deflective disk valving, providing consistency in performance at all shaft velocities. They are racer revalveable, rebuildable and repairable, and are designed for unparalleled repeatability. QA1’s new 26 series steel monotube shocks were designed for superior performance at a budget-conscious price.

“We're very excited to be working with the ASA Midwest Sportsman Tour. I mean, Sportsman racing is as American as apple pie or baseball. Side by side, wheel to wheel hard racing like it should be! I can't wait to see everyone at the track,” stated Corey Flynn, QA1 Technical Sales Manager.

This will lessen the stress on Sportsman Tech Director, Don Heelein in the tech area because each part is go or no go on the tech board. “This shock will benefit our teams tremendously by allowing them to only have to own six shocks instead of 20 at a cost of only $97. They can change the shims for each track and be ready to race, it’s that easy and there is nothing they can do to cheat the system,” stated Tim Olson, President of the ASAMT. “Special thanks to Corey Flynn and QA1 for their dedication to helping the racers in the end.”
