WELKOM, FREE STATE, SOUTH AFRICA (Saturday, January 30, 2010) - American Speed Association officials along with Sirius Satellite Radio are announcing that the ASA Transcontinental Series Free State 500 event will be broadcasted live on Sunday, January 31, 2010 starting at 6:00 a.m. EST on Sirius channel 90 and XM channel 244.
This will be the first American-style stock car event to take place in the Republic of South Africa and will contested on the Phakisa Freeway Circuit 1.5-mile oval. The 207-lap, 500 km event will feature 25 cars with drivers from the United States, South Africa, United Kingdom and Australia.
“We are very excited to have Sirius Satellite Radio on board to cover this event,” Dennis Huth, ASA President said. “The fan interest in the United States has been very high and I know many will be eager to get up early to enjoy their breakfast and listen to this historic event live.”
